Ascelin Gordon is a Melbourne based guitarist who has been performing locally and internationally for the last 15 years. During this time cut his musical teeth as founding guitarist of Melbourne institution “The Brown Hornet” while completing a PhD in particle physics. Recently, Ascelin has released an instrumental solo album titled “Cloudscapes: compositions for guitar”. This new album draws together many threads to construct a sonic tapestry with flavours from folk, jazz, and classical music though to ambient and experimental approaches. Ascelin performs this material live with acoustic guitar and loop pedal supported by fretless bass and percussion.
