Girl Vs Ghost formed in September 2006 in Ballarat. In December 2006, after being together just three months, the five-piece were selected to be part of Studio 52’s ‘Fear Of The Unknown’ project and recorded their debut EP (which is now sold out, forever). They have since toured their unique and refreshing brand of music in top venues in Melbourne, Bendigo, Geelong, Daylesford, Castlemaine, Ballarat, Albury, Wagga Wagga and Adelaide, with plans to tour even further out of state in 2008.

The band have had several successes on Triple J's Unearthed competition, with their song 'We Are Invisible' staying at number 1 for four consecutive weeks in 2007, and their song Rain also at number 1 for 4 weeks in 2008. In 2007 they were awarded Best Pop/Rock Song for 'A Song In Black and White' and Best Rock/Rock Alternative Band from the 2007 Kool Skools awards night, and were featured numerous street presses and magazines (including Melbourne's MX Magazine). In the same year, the band also played a set on the Queenscliffe Music Festival line-up. Their music has had airplay on numerous independent and commercial radio stations (such as Triple J for their song Rain, Power FM, etc) and they have appeared on Melbourne's Channel 31 SYN TV three times.
